On the occasion of the site-specific exhibition Sub Rosa at C/O Berlin, the 9 hours film and a recorded soundtrack of the generative music played during the exhibition will be on view here for one month.

Filmed over two years and composed from 120 hours of video, the film shows young people who come daily to an abandoned fascist monument. They become the characters of a film without narrative, without time, both anthropological, documentary and choreographic. The film is shot only at sunset swarming with teenagers. The soundscapes are generated by a physical audio sculpture during the whole time of the exhibition.

The project has been initiated during Couzinet-Jacques’s residency at Académie de France - Casa de Velazquez in Madrid and has been supported by La Fondation des Artistes and Le Centre National des Arts Plastiques.

The exhibition at C/O Berlin is supported by C/O Berlin Foundation and the C/O Berlin Talent Award, with additional funds by Institut Français and Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication.

Sub Rosa is a project by Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques assisted by Céleste Rogosin, in collaboration with the musician Matthias Puech for the sound composition and programming.
