Everywhen
2018 | Video 4K, 11 minutes. |
Everywhen confronts technologies and oversized data centres that require large resources of rare minerals with the progressive disappearance of Aboriginal tribal territories in Australia. The film deals with two antagonistic conceptions of Time : that of the Aborigines, ancestral and territorial, and that of Westerners seeking for the future and predictive calculations. The immensity of the Australian landscapes is approached as a space in metamorphosis, while the extraction of minerals for electronic components seems ineluctable.
Everywhen was filmed during a residency at MUMA (Monash University Museum of Art) in Melbourne, with the support of the French Embassy in Australia.
